	Watching The Dark Knight on blu-ray, the changing aspect ratio (because it was also shot for Imax, iirc) is unique – still good composition.
	Varying aspect ratio… Very "Kubrickian". (cf Lolita, Dr. Strangelove) (erm, in the case it’s a proper transfer. Yay for LaserDisc!)
	We suddenly realized we shouldn’t have named our new kitty Moogle – we should have named him Kupo! (it’s sort of the sound moogles make.)
	I haven’t gotten a good pic of it yet, but Moogle actually has a moogle charm thingy hanging from his collar.

	Yay! I found an inexpensive scale that weighs in tenth gram increments. Very useful for accurate espresso dosing and I’ve never owned one.
	And the group head gasket for my Gaggia got here yesterday. (17 days after i ordered it, grrr!) But, the leak is finally gone :) :) :)
	Now, I just have to solve the steam wand leak issue and Lady Gaggia will be back to 100%. But that’s gonna be at least $45 plus shipping :(

	I have decided I was right all along about every reason I’ve ever had to not switch to Linux. It is NOT simple and user-friendly.
	Finding Linux software is a bitch and all the compiling and permissions and all this re-learning. I don’t have the time for a new hobby.

	Well, after a couple hours with two tiers of tech support, something in my router seems to have fried. FRAK!!! So, i have work to do.
	And i know very VERY little about this stuff so i am in for a lot of feeling around in the dark. Meanwhile everyone in the house is offline.

	In case you were wondring, the two kitties are not happy about this. And poor xmas kitty keeps backing down to new, older (6-7y.o.) kitty.
	Teaching Terra how to backflush clean the espresso machine.
	The dynamic is clearly this: Moogle kitty will not be the aggressor, but he would be the victor if it came to fisticuffs.
	Moogle kitty looks at Christmas kitty like "Don’t do it, kid. I don’t want to hurt you".
	We feel bad for xmas kitty that he’s feeling bullied out of his home – but xmas is outside all the time so their interaction is minimal.

	Well, the mystery of the leak around the portafilter is solved – the group head gasket is cracked and even missing a couple small chunks.
	The descaling is getting some stuff out, but not as much as i’d hoped for and i worry about the aluminum boiler. Maybe i’ll do it again.
	Well, all that took a long time but the first shot was great :) Still have the new shipment of beans to bag up – then on to housework :P

	Today would have been my dad’s 65th birthday. I was thinking of posting some of my favorite pics of him. Later – stuff to do right now.
	It looks like I’ve jumped through the proper red tape hoops and i’ll get my license renewed today!! Waiting (waiting waiting) at DMV now.
	No bills here in my name and DMV doesn’t accept anything I DO have (cell bill, Netflix, etc.) as proof of residency. We found another way.

	It seems not descaling the Gaggia for so long has damaged the valve inside the steam wand assembly – whole thing will have to be replaced.
	During Gaggia surgery, found my group gasket is getting brittle already (7months). Desert climate? I doubt it but don’t have other theory.
	I still have hopes that descaling will fix (or help) the steam wand leak. Waiting for the descaling stuff in the mail.

	Took Lady Gaggia apart and cleaned some internal stuff – adjusted the OPV 1/2 turn clockwise (opposite what i’d done in March).
	So, in March I turned the OPV ccw one turn, then another 3/4 later – now just went back (cw) 1/2 turn.
	Got my Gaggia for xmas, have never backflushed or descaled it (i know, i know) – just ordered the stuff i need (chemicals, pf insert).

	Now that i’ve finalized the recipe and we have enough demi spoons, the first non-experimental batch of popsicles just went in the freezer :)
	1/4 to 1/2oz syrup (flavored or simple), 1oz espresso, 1&1/2oz cream. Very creamy, intensely coffee-y, and caffeinated, obviously :)
	(and k-mart currenly has perfect popsicle molds at 3oz each – like 4 of them for just under $5, if i recall correctly.)
